We host a total of 89 boys ranging in age from 7 – 16 years. The large gap in age is due to the large gaps in education which their various lifestyles allowed. All boys are allowed to remain in the Home until their education is complete. A number of boys have grown up in the home since very young ages.
Our children come from many different places. Street children are referred by the S.A.P.S. and the Department of Social Services, Churches and the City of Cape Town. Refugee children are referred by the United Nations Commissioner for Refugees, the Cape Town Refugee Forum and the Department of Home Affairs. Others are the offspring of single parents living in The Ark, orphans and abandoned children.
The Home emphasizes love and stability for each individual child, through Christian instruction, the love and care of house-parents, education and extra-mural activities.
Our mission is to restore each child and to set him on an unwavering path walking hand-in-hand with the Lord Jesus Christ.
